October 20, 1943 — December 28, 2018

LeeVoice Jean LaBombard

On the evening of December 28, 2018, we lost a beautiful soul. She departed this world surrounded by family in the most peaceful way.  Jean-as she was known to everyone-was the daughter of Cecil Cal Hamlin and Virginia Owens.  She was born on October 20, 1943, in Middlesboro, Kentucky and spent her youth in the hills and hollows of East Tennessee.  She was a true hillbilly and proud of it.  Jean moved to Michigan in 1960 where she met her future husband Richard D. LaBombard.  Their first encounter was a snarky comment at a restaurant counter that turned into a 35-year marriage and produced five children.
Her family was her pride and joy. Her children Terry (Lisa), Vivian, Vicky (John), Shelly (John) and Richie (Scott) feel a deep loss with her passing.  Her grandchildren Jamie (Jeff), Terry, Jeff (Heather), Michael, Jeremy, Matthew, Zach and Noel, and six great grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan, Logan, Kaylee, Erick and Owen, will miss their Grandma Jean.  Nell will miss her sister dearly.
Jean worked hard to provide for her family. She was a wonderful and compassionate Certified Nursing Aide for more than 30 years.  She touched many lives in her career and life in general. Love, Kindness, Strength and Courage are some of the words that come to mind when describing our mom.  She was also known for her great sense of humor and sassy wit.  Her hugs and snuggles were famous and widely sought.  The other half of her bed, or the chair next to her was always available for anyone who wanted to cuddle or talk.  Jean will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
With all our hearts, we love you. Que sera sera, whatever will be, will be.
At the request of Mrs. LaBombard cremation has taken place and there will be no services or viewing at the Gephart Funeral Home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the wishes of the family.
