Lenore Filary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lenore Filary on October 4, 2024. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, cherished friend, and an uplifting spirit to everyone who knew her. Lenore was born on May 12, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan to Lucien and Celia Dukarski. She graduated from Holy Rosery High School (Class of 1960).

 In 1959, Lenore met the love of her life Ron Filary and the two were married in 1963. The couple celebrated 61 years of marriage this past July. Early years of their marriage were spent connected to the US Airforce. They lived in Alaska, Georgia, Arkansas and Wyoming before finally returning and settling down in Bay City, Michigan. Together, they had four children. Lenore was preceded in death by her three infant daughters; Shawnee Rae, Dawn Marie, and Diane Marie. She is survived by husband Ron, son Michael, daughter-in-law Amy, grand-daughter Emma, and her twin brother Lucien. Lenore’s sister Lois preceded her in death.

 Lenore always placed the needs of her family above her own and always made sure you felt special. From her amazing homemade cookies and desserts to her open ears always ready to listen to you, she is and will be missed dearly.

 A funeral mass will be celebrated on October 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Saint Catherine of Siena Parish in Bay City, Michigan. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Richard Filary. Lenore will lie in a state in church prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. until the time of mass Donations can be made to the Audrey Hensley Foundation (https://audreyhensleyfamilyfoundation.org/) to support a charity near and dear to her granddaughter Emma’s heart.
