Leona Sylvia Evans

Leona passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Toni and Trish House with her family by her side at the age of 102. She was born July 11, 1921, to the late William and Margaret (Powers) Rosebush in Bay City, Michigan. Leona was devoted to her Catholic faith. She was a fantastic storyteller and loved taking care of and spending time with her family. She enjoyed singing and watching football, baseball, and golf. Whenever anyone came to visit, she would have a special meal or treat ready for them.

Leona is survived by her son, John (Pati) Evans; grandchildren, Brian Loudon, Amanda Loudon, Sasha Robinson Harper, Brittany Robinson, John Henry Evans, Gabriella Evans, and Ian (Megan) Evans; great-grandchildren, Cody, Brooklyn, Mackenzie, Wyatt, Elijah, and Maeve; nieces and nephews, Kathy, Patti, Colleen, Laurie, Bill, Jackie, Janet, Julie, and Jane. In addition to her parents, Leona is preceded in death by her husband, John Evans, wedded on October 5, 1946; children, Margaret Evans, Marilyn (Steve) Loudon, and Gary (Kim) Evans; siblings, Raymond (Margaret) Rosebush, William (Evelyn) Rosebush, Laura Rosebush, and Veronica “Bonnie” (Bill) Carlson.

Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023, at Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Nick Coffaro with private interment at St. Patrick Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, July 20, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday, July 21, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be considered to Toni and Trish House.
