Leonard Kaczorowski

Leonard passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Colonnades Assisted Living at the age of 99. The son of the late Xavier and Anastasia (Filip) Kaczorowski was born October 27, 1924 in Bay City, Michigan. Leonard was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was a past president of the Bay City Lion’s Club where he served as the secretary and treasurer. Leonard was retired from the State of Michigan and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, 361^St Infantry Division during WWII and was a past president of the 361^st Infantry Association.

Leonard is survived by his children, Leonard A. Kaczorowski, Robert Kaczorowski, Beverly (David) Maciejewski and Douglas (Kim) Kaczorowski; step daughter, Melissa Eichorn; nine grandchildren; ten step grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Kaczorowski; one son, Christopher Kaczorowski; daughter-in-law, Joan Kaczorowski; two brothers, Richard Kaczorowski and Joseph Kaczorowski; two sisters, Eleanor Dresser and Theresa Gwizdala; brother-in-law, James (Doris) Schafer; sister-in-law, Marion (Bill) Maxwell and two step children, Sharon Almond and Stuart Nicholson.

Funeral and Committal Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Pastor Phillip Baerwolf followed by military honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Private interment will take place at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
