Mr. Manczak passed away Wednesday morning, December 9, 2015 at the Carriage House. Age 90 years. The son of the late Chester and Ann (Wocjik) Manczak was born May 8, 1925 in Bay City. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish. He retired from GM Powertrain Bay City Plant after thirty years of service and was a member of the U.A.W. Local #362. Mr. Manczak was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #414 and the P.L.A.V. #162. He enjoyed golfing and watching the Detroit Tigers. He served his country in the U.S. Army, he went in in 1942 and went to Berlin Germany and that is where he met his first wife Marianne.

Olszowy, two children; Jo Hann (Joseph) Welter of Sherman CT., Larry (Jane) Manczak, eight stepchildren; Ronald Olszowy of San Antonio, TX, Linda (Craig) Miles, Kenneth (Lorraine) Olszowy of Fresno, CA, Kevin Olszowy of Ft. Wayne, IN., Calvin Olszowy of Bay City, MI, Janine Olszowy of Bay City, MI, Carol (Randy) Goodwin of Bay City, MI and Raymond Olszowy of Bay City, MI, a step-daughter-in-law; Sylvia Olszowy, eleven grandchildren; Christopher and Karissa Welter, Nathan and Neil Manczak, Naryn Jankowiak, John, Lisa and Christen Miles, Michelle Dudycha, Ceara and Rae Anne Goodwin, eleven great grandchildren, special family friend; Winston (Pushpam) Williams, two brothers; William (Dale) Manczak, James Manczak, one sister; Barbara (Paul) Gruszynski, many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his first wife; Marianne Manczak, three brothers; Richard, Raymond and Chester Manczak, one sister; Evelyn Conboy, and a step-son; Edward Olszowy.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Monday, December 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Parish (2956 E. North Union Rd., Bay City, MI 48706). Rev. Fr. John S. Sarge and Sister Virginia Scally, SNDdeN will officiate over the funeral rites with the Rite of Committal following at St. Patrick's Cemetery followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Members of the P.L.A.V. #162 will perform a Prayer Service on Sunday at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home followed by the Vigil for the Deceased. Mr. Manczak will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
