Leonard R. Prell

Mr. Prell passed away Thursday February 4, 2010 at the Autumn Joy Adult Foster Home in Charlevoix. Age 89. The son of the late John & Emma (Pilaski) Prell, he was born November 18, 1920 in Bay City. He served with the US Army. Leonard retired as a job setter from Prestolite Corp. He enjoyed wood carving, hunting, fishing and going to the casino.Mr. Prell is survived by his children, Jeff Prell & his partner, John Caron of Charlevoix, Jenifer Voisine and Janine (Louis) Moll, all of Bay City; four step-children, Gary (Janet) Wackerle of West Branch, Judy (Dick) Batko of Omer, Rodney 'Bum' Wackerle of Linwood and Craig (Anne) Wackerle of Bay City; six grandchildren, Erica (Pat Matuszewski) Voisine, Josh (Krystal French) Voisine, Christopher (Jenae) Prell, Rachel, Lauren and Landon Moll; a special niece & nephew, Betty Lotfi and Randy Kozak; two great-grandchildren, Myckaley and Jennaca; step-grandchildren, John and Steven Wackerle, Christa (Larry) Miller, Scott Batko, Terry (Sherry) Batko, Craig (Nicole) Wackerle, Angela, Anne and Ray Wackerle; and step-great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Leonard was also preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette C. (Soitz) Prell; his second wife, June B. (Stalker) Prell; a son, Jason Prell; and his brothers & sisters.The funeral service will take place at 11:00am on Monday February 8, 2010 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson with interment following at St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 9:00pm and on Monday from 9:00am until time of service. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
