Surrounded by her loving family, Mrs. Leslie Boggs lost her courageous battle on the evening of Monday, February 2, 2015, at McLaren Regional Medical Center. The daughter of the late Jack E. and Evelyn M. (Butkovich) Blohm, she was born on October 30, 1964 in Alpena. Leslie was a 1981 graduate of Bay City Central High School. Leslie worked in the banking industry for the past thirty years, most recently with Independent Bank where she not only enjoyed her job but loved her coworkers. Leslie was a graduate of the Leadership Bay County program, and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #18 Ladies Auxiliary. Leslie enjoyed playing card games, nudgemaster and keno and was an avid trivia player. No one could beat her at Jeopardy. Leslie had a keen sense of humor and wit, and a great sense of service to other people. On June 1, 1993, Leslie married her best friend and the love of her life, Dennis L. Boggs, and he will be forever grateful for their life together. Leslie is also survived by her son, Jeremy (Stephanie) Boggs of Bay City and her grandbaby expected in April. Also left to cherish her memory are her two sisters, Lori (David) Quartermaine of Toledo, OH, and Lisa Blohm (Dave); mother-in-law, Donna Boggs; two sisters-in-law, Deb Bowen and her fiance, Tom Carson, and Diane Scholz; a brother-in-law, Dave (LuAnn) Boggs; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Leslie was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Paul Scholz, Jr., and father-in-law, Reed Boggs. A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2015, at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Jane Grzegorczyk. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
