Lester J. Gauthier

Gauthier, Lester J. Bay City, Michigan Mr. Gauthier passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012 at McLaren Bay Region with his family at his side. Age 80 years. The son of the late Fred and Irene (LaPan) Gauthier was born February 28, 1932 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. He was a bricklayer for many years and later retired from Bangor Township as a building inspector. Les was a member of Visitation Catholic Church, and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and most of all spending time at his cabin in Lewiston with his family. He is survived by his wife of fifty six years Karen (Zander) Gauthier, one daughter; Lynne (Rick) Rose, one son; Michael (Penny) Gauthier, four grandchildren; Lexie Gontko and her boyfriend; Jason Richard, Jake Rose and his girlfriend; Courtney "Toots" Wright, Michael Gauthier and Stacy Rogers, three great grandchildren who were the love of his life and he loved spending time with them; Zander Richard, Weslynn Richard and Jaxon Richard. His twin brother; Lawrence (Maxine) Gauthier, his sister; Shirley Thorpe, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Patrick and Bobbie Zander, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother-in-law; Fred Thorpe, one sister-in-law; Jeannie Schmoack, mother-in-law and father-in-law; Gladys and Kelly Zander. The Funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Stephen J. Fillion. A Private Rite of Committal and Military Honors will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Kawkawlin, Michigan. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.. Mr. Gauthier will be taken to the church on Thursday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial cards for the American Cancer Society will be available at the funeral home.
