Lisius, Lester De Roy of Linwood, Michigan passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at his residence in the care of his daughter. Age 80 years. The son of the late Alfred and Katherine (Hamann) Lisius was born June 11, 1933 in Detroit, MI and grew up in Linwood, MI. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church and graduated from T.L. Handy High School. Before retirement Lester worked for New York Central Rail Road as an oiler and farmed. Pickles were his favorite crop along with other vegetables and grain. He was a member of the Crump Fox Club, loved hunting, fishing, camping and snowmobiling. Lester served his country in the U.S Army. Lester is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Donald and Darlene Lisius of Louise, Texas, one daughter and son-in-law; Anna and Tom Longhin of Linwood, MI, his grandchildren; Meggan and Todd Grube of Markham, Texas and their children; Christian and Jewelia, Coryne and James Shipp of Bay City, TX and their son Cooper, Shane and Halley Lisius of Fountain, CO, Malana, Kaila and Alexis Orsak of Louise, TX and Nicholas Longhin of Linwood, MI, his sister and brother-in-law; Ione and Martin Haemker of Crete, ILL and many other well loved friends and relatives in Michigan and around the United States. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife the former Patricia Rachel Ogger Lisius whom he married October 15, 1955 she passed away July 29, 2012 and a brother Lawrence whom passed away at infancy. Lester, Patricia and their family will always be grateful for the wonderful services of Grace Hospice, Visiting Physicians, Region VII Area on Aging of Bay City and Compassionate Home Care of West Branch, without your kind hearted and compassionate help home care of our family members would not have been possible. The expression of our gratitude seems very small compared to the thank fulness we feel in our hearts and lives. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Seafert followed by Military Honors Conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Private interment will take place in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Monday, July 17, 2013 from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mr. Lisius will be taken to the church on Tuesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial cards for St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church will be available at the funeral home.
