Mr. Lloyd R. Schoeppach, of Bay City, passed away Friday evening, December 9, 2016 at Cartwright Hospice in Saginaw, age 91. The son of the late John and Frances (Hart) Schoeppach, he was born on October 14, 1925 in Genesee County. Lloyd served our country with the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He retired in 1983 as a Radio Tech with the Michigan State Police, having worked at posts in Paw Paw, Bay City and retiring from Flint. Lloyd was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon, Elder and Trustee. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, ham radios and he had a great love for airplanes.
On December 15, 1949 Lloyd married the former Carmen Esther Mitchell and she preceded him in death this past summer on June 28, 2016. Lloyd is survived by his four children, Karen Schoeppach, Mary (John) Wenz, Bethney (Bryan) Rudick and Sue (Amado) Arceo III; his grandchildren, Brent (Heather) Wenz, Brian (Andria) Wenz, Jason Lynch, Brandon Rudick, Courtney Rudick, Amado (Rachele) Arceo IV and Marc (Maria) Arceo; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, his twin Louis (Jean) Schoeppach and Wayne (Ruth) Schoeppach; a sister, Florence (Frank) Baker; and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Schoeppach. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one granddaughter; DeLynn Lynch; four brothers, Ronald (Margaret), Melvin (Edith), Max (Edna) and Orval Schoeppach; and four sisters, Fern (Allen) Chisholm, Edith (Tom) Clark, Ruth (Woody) Klinger and Ellen (Lloyd) Diehl.
It was Mr. Schoeppach's desire for cremation to take place. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be Rev. Matthew Schramm. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Military Honors, conducted by the U.S. Air Force and the Bay County Veterans Council, will take place at the funeral home on Friday at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church or to the Wishes of the Family. www.gephartfuneralhome.com
