Lois Freda Wieland

Lois passed away Friday afternoon, September 4, 2020 at the Toni & Trish House in Auburn. The daughter of the late George and Freda (Gies) Knochel was born October 16, 1921 in Kawkawlin, Michigan.  She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Kawkawlin. Lois was recognized as mother of the year and enjoyed baking and reading.
She is survived by her son, Mark (Joy) Wieland of Livonia, MI; three daughters, Marilyn Westphal of Essexville, MI, Susan (Timothy) Wenglikowski of Bay City, MI and Sharon Schwarz of Traverse City, MI; eight grandchildren, Marnie Westphal, Max (Jennifer) Westphal, Tifany Wieland, Derek  (Lindsay) Wieland, Kristi (Russ) Dinsmore, Jered (Amy) Wenglikowski, Cullen Schwarz and Kalee (Ignacio) Barrantes; great grandchildren, Hannah, Grant, Aiden, Alayna, Tristan, Alexia, Tyler,  Anneliese, Trevor,  Vaughn and Kole; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald W. Wieland and her son-in-law, Charles Westphal and eight siblings. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Woodhaven of Bay City, Bayfield Assisted Living, Nichole from McLaren Hospice and the entire staff of the Toni & Trish House for the kind and compassionate care you gave our loved one during her time of need.
Funeral Service will take place Friday, September 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Apostolic Christian Church in Kawkawlin. Officiating will be Clergy of the Church with private burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the church on Friday to receive family and friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Due to current health concerns and gathering limitations, social distancing will be observed and masks must be worn.
