Loren C. Appold

Appold, Loren C. Bay City, Michigan Mr. Appold passed away early Wednesday morning August 28, 2013 at Covenant Cooper Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 82 years. The son of the late Benjamin and Ellenora (Hoerauf) Appold was born November 5, 1930 in Frankenlust Township and has resided on the family farm all of his life. Loren was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust where he served as a trustee, sang in the church choir and was the sexton of St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery for many years. Loren retired as a farmer, served with the National Guard of the State of Michigan and as the Constable for Frankenlust Township for several years. He was a Detroit Tiger baseball fan, enjoyed hunting, golfing and most of all spending time with his family and friends. On June 9, 1962 he married his wife of fifty one years, the former Carol R. Kloha in St. John's Lutheran Church of Amelith and she survives his passing along with two daughters and two sons-in-law; Angela and Scott Buda and Stacey and David Hildebrant, one son and one daughter-in-law; Kirk and Barb Appold, four grandchildren; Adrian and Miranda Hildebrant and Austin and Kasey Appold, two step grandchildren and their spouses; Scott and Tara Buda and Jenelle and Derek Leib, one step great grandchild; Ty Buda, one sister and brother-in-law; Wilma and Ernie Zeilinger, three brothers and three sisters-in-law; Robert Appold, Harold and Mary Lou Appold, Floyd and Julia Appold and Marilyn Appold, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Maynard Rauschert, Geraldine and Gordon Gehringer and Francis Kloha and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law; Richard and Lydia Kloha, one sister and brother-in-law; Matilda and Gerhardt Zeilinger, two brothers and two sister-in-laws;Ralph Appold, Edwin and Malinda Appold and Alice Appold, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Lucille Rauschert, Norma and Ronald Peil, Eldred and Delbert Stallings and Floyd Kloha. Funeral Services will take place Monday, September 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. Officiating will be Rev. Paul D. Theiss with interment following in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mr. Appold will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service.
