Loretta passed away peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2022 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 89. She was born on January 18, 1933 to the late John and Mary (Lutz) Kolb in Bay City, Michigan. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed making quilts for the Lutheran World Relief. Loretta worked for many years at the Economy Center with her friends. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She was an avid jeopardy fan, NASCAR fan and birdwatcher. She was a pet lover and also loved traveling and homemade baking. She is now reunited with her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Leslie Kohn. Before his passing in 2020, they spent over 67 wonderful years together creating many memories.
Loretta is survived by her children, Richard (Lou Ann) Kohn, Kathryn Metro and Karen (Mike) Sauer; grandchildren, Frank Garrett Metro, Jacob (Caitlin) Kohn and Jessica (Luke) Stewart; great grandchildren, Adelyn, Delaney and Rory Kohn and Abraham, Ezekiel and Malachi Stewart; brother, Harold (Joyce) Kolb; sister-in-law's, Margaret Kolb and Luella Kolb; several nieces and nephews, and many other extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Adam (Evelyn) Kolb, William Kolb and Louie Kolb and sister, Caroline Nichols.
In honoring the wishes of Loretta, cremation had taken place and no services are being planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bay County Humane Society and/or Zion Lutheran Church of Bay City.
