Lorin R. Pfund

Mr. Pfund passed away Friday evening, June 3, 2016 at the Carriage House Nursing Home. Age 86. The son of the late Henry P. and Hedwig M. (Griebe) Pfund was born August 25, 1929 in Monitor Township, MI. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. Mr. Pfund retired from Gaertner Builders as a Brick Layer. He enjoyed farming, working on his tree farm and gardening. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Left to cherish his memory is his wife the former Mary E. Yarnell whom he married June 16, 1951 and this year they would have celebrated 65 years of marriage, two sons, David (Elizabeth) Pfund; Steven (Ann Schmunk) Pfund; his grandchildren, Marybeth and Lauren Pfund; Micah and Abby Schmunk. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Michael Pfund; two brothers, Henry Pfundt and Jim Pfund; one sister, Lila Cloud. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. David Hakes followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Private Interment will take place in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home to receive family and friends on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services.
