Lorren John Behmlander

Behmlander, Lorren John of Safford, AZ formerly of Bay City passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Southern Arizona VA Health Care System. Age 78 years. He was born August 3,1933 in Bay City and had resided here for many years until moving to Arizona. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Safford, AZ and attended St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. He was an active volunteer with many projects including Builder of Christ and Search and Rescue. Mr. Behmlander retired from General Motors Co.- Bay City Plant in 1980, served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, he enjoyed hunting and woodworking and most of all helping others. On September 4,1954 he married the former Stella Duby in St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust and she survives his passing along with one son and daughter-in-law; Randy and Patricia Ann Behmlander, one daughter and son-in-law; Lori and Darwin Morris, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one brother and sister-in-law; Herbert and Diane Behmlander, brother-in-law; Larry Neetz , sister-in-law; Gladys Moritz and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Frederick and Lorina (Buerkel) Behmlander, one son; Timothy Behmlander, one sister; Shirley Neetz and one brother; Robert Behmlander. Funeral Services will take place Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. Officiating will be The Rev. Paul D. Theiss with interment following in the Church Cemetery under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mr. Behmlander will be taken the church on Saturday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services.
