Louis J. Schmidt

Louis Schmidt died May 25, 2016. He was born in Bay City, Michigan on July 21, 1929, to Mary and Louis Schmidt. Louis served in the U.S. Air Force for seven years and worked at the Dow Chemical Employee's Credit Union in Midland, MI, for over 37 years retiring in 1993, as its Manager. Louis is survived by Betty his wife of 57 years, his daughter Beth, of New Orleans, LA, sons Paul of Sunnyvale, CA, Michael and wife Pamela of St. Louis, MO, Jeffrey and wife Cynthia of Denver, CO. He was not blessed with grandchildren, but his children were a constant source of joy and pride to him. He is also survived his brother David (Marilyn) Schram, and his sisters, Mary Lou Taylor and Nancy Nephew. Louis enjoyed reading, walking, and travel, especially Elderhostel trips, which exposed him to new ideas, people and places. He especially enjoyed visiting his children at the various places they lived. Louis has been cremated, as was his wish and a private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
