Sebald, Louis Robert Bay City, Michigan Mr. Sebald passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon November 25, 2012 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 84 years. He was born May 14, 1928 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. Mr. Sebald retired from Monitor Sugar Co. after forty two years of service as an assistant engineer/Sugar Boiler and had a great love for building. He proudly served his country with the United States Army as a Sergeant during the Korean War and was a member of the D.A.V, American Legion Post 18 and the Grain and Millers International Union Local #263. On March 26, 1951 he married his wife of sixty one years the former Jeanne Mary Engelhardt in Holy Trinity Catholic Church and she survives his passing along with eight children and their spouses; Mark and Diane Sebald, Jeanne and Joseph Gwizdala, LuAnn and Brian Lemiesz, Scott and Lynne Sebald, Barry and Milly Sebald, Catherine and Jeff Bertuleit, Patrick Sebald and his fiancée Carrie Hadd and Jenny and Brad Werner, seventeen grandchildren; Amy Sebald, Stephen Sebald, Melissa (Brian) Michalski, Angela Gwizdala, Sarah Gwizdala, Matthew (Rachel) Lemiesz, Andrew Lemiesz, Courtney Sebald, Alison Sebald, Lauren Jean Sebald, Ryan Sebald, Shannon Sebald, Kyle Sebald, Caitlin Bertuleit, Claire Bertuleit, Jacob Werner and Madeline Werner, two great grandchildren; Morgan Sebald and Janay Gwizdala, one sister, two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law; Gertrude and Elmer Schwartz, Gerald "Joe" and Margaret Engelhardt and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; George and Mary ( Burhardt) Sebald, three sisters; Dorothy, Ruth and Florence, father-in-law and mother-in-law; Fred and Catherine "Pat" Engelhardt and one brother-in-law; Fred "Sonny" Engelhardt. Funeral Services will take place Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Robert S. Gohm with interment following in St. Patrick's Cemetery under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council and the United States Army. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mr. Sebald will be taken to the church on Thursday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial cards for Holy Trinity Catholic Church or the Right to Life of Michigan will be available at the funeral home.
