Louis J. VonGrey

Mr. VonGrey passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021 at the Bay Valley House at the age of 84. The son of the late Louis and Bernice (Cushman) VonGrey was born July, 20, 1936 in San Jose, California. Mr. VonGrey was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, Eagles Club 1010, American Legion Post 18, Teamsters Union 486/406 and he served in the U.S. Airforce and the U.S. Marine Corps. He enjoyed classic cars, going to car shows, gardening, sports and the Detroit Tigers but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Louis is survived by his wife, Polly VonGrey; one son, Joseph VonGrey; one daughter, Shawna (Robert) Miller; two step sons, Rob (Keri) Worden and David (Holli) Worden; grandchildren, Tricia VonGrey, Travis (Ashley) VonGrey, Tia VonGrey, Chevon (Carl) VanEpps, Josh (Lupita) Miller, Chelsay (Steven) Whitmore, Chelsie (Adam) Bli, Andrew Worden, Rachel Worden, Zachary Worden, Ethan Worden and Cameron Worden; several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Rita.
Funeral and Committal services will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Richard M. Filary. Private interment will take place in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial cards for the wishes of the family will be available at the funeral home.
