Werner, Louis Charles Bay City , Michigan The son of the late Adolph and Alma Pieper Werner passed away Sunday, June 5 at Brian's House. Age 81 years. He was born November 26, 1929 in Alpena , Michigan. Louie retired as a pipe fitter from General Motors Power Train in Bay City and was a member of U.A.W. Local 362. He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict, he enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, camping, coaching baseball at North West Little League and he especially enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of fifty seven years the former Charlene J. Fortier whom he married on August 8, 1953 at Visitation Catholic Church. Louis is also survived by his six children and their spouses; Craig (Sue) Werner, Mark (Lisa) Werner Sr., Tammy (Jim) Metevia, Mike (Deb) Werner, Denise ( Scott) Majeske and Brad (Jenny ) Werner all of Bay City, his grandchildren; Andrea (Chris), Nicholas (Stephanie) Brent (Jessie), Marcie, Melissa (Ryan), Stacey (Chris), Tracey (Eric) Allen, Tiffany, Andrew (Rebecca), Jeremy (Kim), Joshua (Sara), Jeffrey (Laura), Katelyn, Christopher, Jacob and Madeline, many loving great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law; Florence Werner and Ruth Werner and his very special friends; Jim and Dorothy DeRosia . Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one grandson; Mark Jr., three brothers; Frederick, Edwin and Harvey and one sister; Della Woidtke. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Brian's House. Funeral Services will take place Thursday, June 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home , Inc.. Officiating will be Fr. Robert Gohm with private Inurnment in Calvary Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home to receive visitors on Wednesday, June 8 from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on June 9 from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services. Memorial contributions will be available for Visitation Catholic Church at the funeral home.
