Louise Eleanor Szczepanski Bay City, Michigan Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Huron Woods Nursing Center in Kawkawlin, MI with her family at her side. Age 88 years. The daughter of the late Leo and Sadie (Szeszulski) Grocholski was born March 30, 1928 in Bay City. She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish-Holy Trinity Church in Bay City and Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Traverse City and was a former member of Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church. Louise enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino and most of all she loved the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Left to cherish her memories are five children; Catherine and Thomas Wisniewski of Bay City, Steven and Deborah Szczepanski of Mecosta, MI, Fred Szczepanski and Bill Thompson of Traverse City, MI, Jeffrey and Maureen Szczepanski of Bay City and Robert and Karen Szczepanski of NC, nine grandchildren; Amy, Brian, Craig (Kim), Stacey, Nicholas, Kaitlynn, Josh, Tanner, and Kendall, four great grandchildren; Jack, Sophie, Raegan and Amelia, one sister and one brother-in-law; Mary Ann and Pat Goslin of Unionville, one brother and two sisters-in-law; Leo and Shirley Grocholski and Lila Grocholski all of Bay City. On August 28, 1948 she married her husband Eugene Szczepanski and he preceded her in death on May 8, 2006. Besides her parents Leo and Sadie she was preceded in death by one brother; Eugene Grocholski. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10:00 at Corpus Christi Parish - St. Hedwig Church 601 W. Pearl St. Bay City, MI 48706. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Kevin N. Kerbawy with the Rite of Committal following in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery. THERE WILL BE NO VISITATION AT THE GEPHART FUNERAL HOME, INC. The family will be present at the church on Saturday to receive visitors from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A Mass of the Resurrection will take place at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Traverse City at a later date in October. In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to "The Wishes of the Family" for a memorial to be established at a later date in her memory.
