Lucille M. Ahler, of Bay City, passed away on Thursday morning, May 2, 2013 at McLaren Bay Region, age 92. The daughter of the late Albert & Bertha (Wenkel) Peppel, she was born June 23, 1920 in Bay City. Lucille was a resident of Sheffield Place. She was a former member of Essexville Community Baptist Church and in her younger years she enjoyed hunting and fishing. In 1944 Lucille married Clarence C. Ahler and he preceded her in death in 1994. Lucille is survived by her three daughters, Carolyn (Mike) Luptowski of Bay City, Margaret (Mike) Romzek of Cadillac and Donna (Douglas) Kienbaum of Bay City; two grandchildren, Michael (Tracy) Romzek of Buckley, MI and Michelle Romzek of Cadillac; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Aiden Romzek; three sisters, Priscilla LeMere and Barbara (Jerome) Rose, both of Bay City and Martha Lou (Robert) Olson of Northbrook, IL; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Ahler and Avis Peppel, both of Bay City; and several nieces and nephews. Lucille was also preceded in death by two brothers, Otto and Marshall Peppel; and a sister, Elizabeth Butterfield. It was Lucille's desire for cremation to take place. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Sr. Joanne Toohey, O.P. Private inurnment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice.
