Luella "Lou" M. Schwab

Our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully, early Saturday morning, November 2, 2019, surrounded by her family at New Hope Bay Assisted Living, at the age of 97 years. The daughter of the late William and Hattie Jenkins was born on November 7, 1921 in Bay City, Michigan. She was a member of Grace Church-East Campus. Lou was a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars. Her first priority was her family, she was always there to support them in anything they did, and she also loved to spend time with them and her husband at their cabin at Higgins Lake. Lou also enjoyed sewing, doing puzzles and word searches.
Left behind to cherish her memories are one daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Timothy Herber; her grandchildren, Kelly (Carl) Tocco and Matthew (Christy) Herber; her great grandchildren, Tyler and Ashlynn Herber; her special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Schwab and her granddaughter, Amy Herber. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of New Hope Bay Assisted Living for the kind and compassionate care Lou received during her time of need.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Luella's life will take place on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 11:00 am. at Grace Church-East Campus. Officiating will be Rev. Jeff Temple with private inurnment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the church on Friday to receive family and friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to Wishes of the Family.
