Luetta Margaret Marie Behmlander (Rueger) Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Luetta Margaret Marie Behmlander, of Bay City, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016. She was born October 11, 1931 to the late Andrew and Agnes (Engelhardt) Rueger in Bay County and has resided here all her life. On September 30, 1961 she married Howard J. Behmlander at St. John Amelith Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death on April 5, 1989. Luetta was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust and its Ladies Aid and was a former member of the church choir. Luetta is survived by her son, Cary A. Behmlander of Midland; her daughter, Joanne M. Behmlander of Bay City and Joanne's fiance, Brian Johnson; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Alfred Rueger and Alvin (Judy) Rueger, all of Freeland and Ruth Behmlander of Bay City; and also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Luetta was also preceded in death by a brother, Eldor Rueger; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Luetta enjoyed traveling, including several cruises and trips with her friends and family. She took pride in taking care of her yard, garden and flowers around her house. Luetta loved to watch baseball, tackle crossword and jigsaw puzzles, bake and do embroidery work. She worked for 12 years at Bay City Chevrolet. The Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. Officiating will be Rev. Stephen P. Starke with the Committal Service following in the St. Paul Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Behmlander will lie instate at the church on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust Memorial Fund or the American Cancer Society.
