Lydene (Wackerle) Mammel

Lydene Katherine (Wackerle) Mammel Bay City, Michigan Passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 21, 2013, with her loving companion by her side. The daughter of the late Joseph and Clara (Hacker) Wackerle was born June 8, 1921 in Kawkawlin, Michigan. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, puzzles and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was a waitress for 35 years serving customers at Mike's Restaurant, The Empire, Michigan Haus and Bay Valley. Lydene leaves behind her companion of 33 years, Maynard White; a son and daughter-in-law, Gordon (Lois) Mammel, and their children, Michael (Deanne) Mammel, Kristi (Jeffrey) Feinauer, and Wendy (Randy) Pfau; a daughter, Marilyn Bowersock and her children, Jessica (Mike) Dore and Jill (Jerod) Wrzesinski. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Grant and Rachel Mammel, Brady and Colt Feinauer, Bayley and Morgan Pfau, Gavin Dore, and Blake and Drew Wrzesinski. Also surviving are a brother, Lorraine (Virginia) Wackerle, a sister, Carolyn (Kay) Pashak; and sisters-in-law, Ileean Wackerle and Florine Wackerle and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Lee Bowersock, brothers, Clinton, Clare and Wallace Wackerle, a sister, Marilyn Wackerle, sister-in-law, Alvina Wackerle and brother-in-law, George (Joe) Pashak. Also preceding Lydene in death were brothers and sisters-in-law, Verna (Clarence) Gerhauser, Mildred (Edgar) Leinberger, Gerhardt (Dorolyn) Mammel and the father of her children, Maynard Mammel. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive guests on Sunday, March 24, 2013 from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. A memorial service will begin at 5:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Paul D. Theiss.
