Barnt, Lylah Belle Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Barnt passed away August 4, 2012 at Carriage House in Bay City at the age of 95. The former Lylah Belle Brown was born July 3, 1917 in Lambertville, Monroe County, Michigan. She married the late Henry Clayton Barnt on November 25, 1937 in Sylvania, Ohio and moved to Bay City following their marriage. She was active in the PTA and Booster Club at Bangor Central Elementary when her son was a student there. She worked for many years as a professional seamstress and then managed the Wellman's Credit Union. Mrs. Barnt is survived by her son, Kenneth C. Barnt of Bay City; three grandchildren, Brian J. Barnt of North Ridgeville, Ohio, Craig A. (Janet L.) Barnt of Midland and Ginger L. (Todd) Turner of Texas; six great grandchildren, Kenneth S. (Katherine R.) Barnt, Anna L. Barnt, Karen A. Barnt, Taylor S. Sanford, Paige L. Swanton and Amberrose M. Swanton; one great great granddaughter, Mollie R. Barnt; her former daughter-in-law, Mary M. Ledbetter of Midland; her former grandson-in-law, Thomas Allen; one brother, Carl Brown of Temperance, Michigan; two sisters-in-law, Wandabelle Merce of Sylvania, Ohio and Norma J. Smith of Oklahoma City, OK and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her parents, Oliver F. Brown and Pearl A. (Hartsell) Johnson; one granddaughter, Mary Regina Barnt; one sister, Wilma Redmyer and one brother, Hartsel Brown. The family wishes to thank the caregivers from Comfort Keepers and the staff of the Carriage House for their care and kindness. A private interment will take place at Floral Gardens Cemetery. A family gathering will be held at a later date in the Toledo, Ohio area.
