Mr. Spencer passed away at Huron Woods Nursing Home on Monday, August 14, 2017. Age 100 years. Lynn was born in Summerville, Oregon on November 25, 1916 to the late George and Dora (Geiger) Spencer. Lynn proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps. during WWII in the South Pacific. He was a member of St John's Ev. Lutheran Church. On January 26, 1946 he married the former Hulda Jammer, she preceded him in death on July 31, 2005. Lynn worked for Defoe Shipbuilding, Resistance Welding and Monitor Sugar. Surviving are his two children, Marilyn Schwab and Farrell (Roberta) Spencer; six grandchildren, John Schwab, Matthew Schwab, Dawn Spencer, Charlie (Audra) Spencer, Brandon (Melissa) Tebedo and Justin Tebedo; nine great grandchildren, Shelby, Melinda, Jadyn, Zoey, Zac, Kylie, Charlie Jr., Ethan and Cade; one brother, Marion "Pete" (Lucille) Spencer and many nieces and nephews. Lynn was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harold "Jack" and John "Alvin"; and one sister Lorene "Sis". Funeral service will take place on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul E. Schaewe officiating. Burial and committal will take place at Floral Gardens Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council and the U.S. Army. Friends may visit at the Gephart Funeral Home on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Spencer will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
