Malaya Carrol Rivard

Malaya Carrol Rivard Quanicassee, Michigan Our loving mother and grandmother passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at McLaren Bay Region. Age of 65 years. She was born November 27, 1950 in Hazlehurst, GA. Malaya graduated from Garber High School and was employed at Circle Drive AFC Home. She had a great love for cooking for her family, going on cruises, fishing, an occasional trip to the casino and most of all she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Left behind to cherish her memories are one daughter and son-in-law; Malaya S. and Jeremy McCraw of Columbia, TN, one son and daughter-in-law; Roland and Dawn Rivard of Fairgrove, fourteen grandchildren; Stephanie and Mike Chezem, Jay and Carrie Switala, Eric and Julie Switala, Jeff and Bianca Streeter, James and Kacie Streeter, Jackson Streeter, Katherine McCraw, Emma McCraw, Joseph McCraw, Lisha and Juliette McCurry, Faith Rivard, Jade Rivard, Elli Rivard and Richard Rivard, six great grandchildren; Mercedes Switala, Isabella Chezem, Michael Chezem, Archer Switala, Simon Switala, Lily Streeter and the family is expecting the seventh great grandchild; Jace Streeter. She was preceded in death by her husband; Richard Rivard, one daughter; Mellannie Switala, her mother; Joyce Morris and her father and stepmother; Clayton and Wilma Boatright. A Memorial Service will take place Monday January 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Charles F. Campbell with private Inurnment in Wisner Township Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to the "Wishes of the Family".
