Dubay, Margaret L. (Malott) (Aunt Maggie) of Bay City, Michigan passed away early Monday morning December 5, 2011 at her residence with her loving family at her side. Age 85 years. The daughter of the late Leonard and Margaret ( Osterman) Malott was born July 1, 1926 in Flint, Michigan. Mrs. Dubay was a former member of Our Lady of the Visitation and a member of the Church of St. Boniface and was involved with the Bay County Democratic Party for many years. Margaret retired from United Bay City Credit union. She graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School in Saginaw where she was a cheerleader, was active with North West Little League for many years and was a school crossing guard. She is survived by nine children; Bonnie (John) Vanderberg of Peoria, AZ, Kathy Kraenzlein of Lovells, Robert Dubay of E. Tawas, Patty ( Dennis) Owczarzak of Bay City, Meg (Dane Perkins) Dubay of Phoenix, AZ, Tammy (Martin) Larsen of Bay City, Ann (Paul) Batschke of Shields, Nan (Dan Noonan) Dubay of Bay City and Donald Dubay Jr. of Bay City, twelve grandchildren; Kim (Glenn) Schmidt, Kris (Matt) LaBeau, Brett (Cheri Fisher) Wolverton, Heather Wolverton, Troy Lipan, Jessica Lipan and fiancée Matt Horstman, Jennifer Batschke, Joshua Batschke, Dylan Courier, Grant Perkins, Caitlin Dubay and Zachary Dubay, many great grandchildren, her brothers and sisters; Leonard (Jean) Malott, Chuck (Ruth) Malott, Joann Schoen, Jim (Sara) Malott, Pat Chelsky and many nieces and nephews. On July 20, 1946 she married Donald R. Dubay and he preceded her in death on April 10, 1987. She was also preceded in death by one son-in-law; Jerry Kraenzlein, one sister and four brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law; Kate (Ted) Vlassis, Tom Schoen and Tom Chelsky and Bernard and Nancy Dubay. The Family would like to extend a special thank you to Cheryl Morand from the Church of St. Boniface for her compassion and time she spent with Margaret and to Home and Hospice Advantage of Bay City for their kind and special care they extended during the time they spent with Mrs. Dubay The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Boniface 510 N. Lincoln Bay City. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Dale A. Orlik with the Rite of Committal following in Calvary Cemetery in Kawkawlin. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Friday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Dubay will be taken to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial cards for Hospice of Bay City will be available.
