Smith, Margaret E. Midland, Michigan Formerly of Hale and Essexville, Michigan Mrs. Smith passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Mid-Michigan Regional Medical Center in Midland. Age 85 years. The daughter of the late James and Katie (Sortzi) Charters was born November 29, 1930 in Whittemore, Michigan. She worked for many years at GM Powertrain-Bay City Plant and retired from Saginaw Steering Gear in Saginaw. She and her husband lived in Essexville, MI and then moved to Hale, MI and resided there for thirty years.. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her pet dogs; Tia and Missy. Mrs. Smith also enjoyed reading, canning and gardening. Left behind to cherish her memories are her children; Robbie (George) Hutter and Sherie St. Charles all of Midland, two grandchildren; Ben and Abby Hutter, two sisters; Patricia (Gerald) Schedlbower and Catherine Voss, her sister-in-law; Millie Charters, her brother-in-law; Ronald Smith, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband; Robert G. Smith, her sister; Betty Colbeck, her brothers and sisters-in-law; William, Edward, George and Ginny Charters and Doris Smith, her brother-in-law; Max Voss. Funeral Services will take place Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Jeff Temple with interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home to receive family and friends on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
