Marian E. DeRemer, of Bay City, passed away peacefully at the age of 91, on March 5, 2014, at Toni & Trish House. Marian was born on June 12, 1922 in Turner, MI to the late Herbert & Mabel Maxwell. She married Frederick DeRemer on May 12, 1945. He predeceased her on March 10, 1985. Marian was a beautician for many years, and then worked in Real Estate & Property Management. She was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Past President of the Eagles Auxiliary #1010, Past President of the Retired Eagles Activity Club, and Past Commander of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary #9. Marian was a former member of the Moose #367, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Women's Business Association. Marian is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon (Jerry) Shaw; granddaughter, Michelle (Tom) McInerney; great-grandchildren, Noah, Erica and Nathan McInerney; and several nieces & nephews. Marian was predeceased by her husband, Frederick; her father, Herbert Maxwell; her mother, Mabel Maxwell-Ross; her step-father, Joseph Ross; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie (Donald) Bell, and Opal (Joseph) Flood, a step-brother, James Ross; and a brother-in-law, Charles DeRemer. The Family would like to thank the staff of McLaren Bay Hospice, (especially Michelle and Rev. Joe), and also every one of the wonderful staff of Toni & Trish House for all the loving care they gave to Marian. The Funeral Service & Rite of Committal will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be The Rev. Sharon L. Voelker. Private interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Toni & Trish House.
