Mrs. Marian A. Jakubiak, of Bay City, MI, formerly of Turner, MI, passed away early Friday morning, December 26, 2014 at The Carriage House of Bay City, age 84. The daughter of the late Howard and Edna (Nutall) Hardy, she was born February 3, 1930 in Bay City. Marian worked most of her life on the family farm in Turner. She was also an excellent homemaker and a caring mother. Marian enjoyed country western music and loved to play cards and bingo. Mrs. Jakubiak is survived by her three children, Wayne (Michelle) Jakubiak of AuGres, Mary (Tom) Meerschaert of Bay City and Joyce (Victor) Gay of Kawkawlin; six grandchildren, Carol (Lee), Christopher (Amy), Val (Dave), Nicholas, Greg and Kim(Scott); two brothers, LeRoy "Buck" (Lucille) Hardy and Wayne (Deb) Hardy; two sisters-in-law, Ellen Hardy and Carol Cody; a special cousin, Betty Kroll; her dear friends, Jack and Bonnie Bedell; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Marian was also preceded in death by her husband, David J. Jakubiak; three brothers, Vernon Hardy, Robert "Hack" Hardy and Larry Hardy; and a son-in-law, Patrick Kowalczyk. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Carriage House for the many years of special care they gave to Marian. Thank You! The Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Prince of Peace Parish (St. Anne Catholic Church) in Linwood. The Celebrants will be Rev. Fr. T.J. Fleming, Deacon Michael Arnold and Deacon Bob Kelm. Private interment will be at St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the Parish Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Jakubiak will lie instate at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bay Area Women's Shelter.
