Marian V. Roedel

Roedel, Marian V. Bay City, Michigan Marian Roedel went home to our Lord on Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Age 89 years. Marian was born January 2, 1924 on the family farm in Amelith to John and Anna Foerster, she married Donald G. Roedel on August 23, 1947, sharing 66 years together. Marian enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, especially roses, was a talented seamstress and enjoyed boating, perch fishing and traveling. In mid life she was proud to obtain a GED and then graduate from nursing school. Marian is survived by her husband, Donald; her son, John (Ann) Roedel, daughter, Susan (Steve) Frank; her grandsons, Ross and Marc Roedel; her sister, Irene (Elmer) Taglauer, sister-in-law, Gertrude Foerster and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Roland (Edna) and Clarence Foerster. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Sheffield Place for their compassion and care that they gave to Marian. Funeral and Committal services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Pastor Paul E. Schweppe with private interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial cards for St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church will be available at the funeral home.
