Marie R. Kielpinski

Marie passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024 in Blissfield, Michigan at the age of 87. She was born to the late George and Rose (Schultz) Fleming on August 11, 1936 in Springfield, Illinois. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and sang in the choir there as well. She enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, refinishing furniture and bowling. She was also in choir for the Bay Chorale and had the opportunity to travel to Russia and Italy with them. Marie’s favorite thing to do was attending her granddaughters’ concerts, recitals and watching them perform in the marching band. She will now be reunited with her husband, Donald Kielpinski, whom she married on August 17, 1957 and they spent 67 years together until he passed on January 20, 2024.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Kendra (Steven) Shields; granddaughters, Sarah (Nicolas) Martinez, Rachel Shields and Rebecca (Corey) Schwartzkopf; one great granddaughter, Isabel Martinez; sister-in-law’s, Dixie Fleming, Sylvia Fleming, Elsie Fleming, Sherry (Henry) Breaux, Betty Fick, Arlene Quamme and Marcia (Daniel) Wiedyk; brother-in-law’s, Leonard Kielpinski and Robert Przygocki and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Fleming, William Fleming and Donald Fleming; brother-in-law’s, Norman Kielpinski and Michael Quamme and sister-in-law, Cynthia Przygocki.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Arbor Hospice, especially Maureen, Chaplain Ron, Shynay, Rachael and Miki. They gave such wonderful care to Marie and her family during this very difficult time.

Funeral Service for Marie will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with interment to follow at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Steven Thiel. The family will be present to receive visitors at the Gephart Funeral Home on Friday, May 10, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or Arbor Hospice.
