Maarleveld, Marie A. of Bay City, Michigan passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 at Bay Shores Nursing Home. Age 96 years. The daughter of the late Anthony and Dina Maarleveld Sr. was born July 15, 1915 in Bay City, Michigan and has resided here all of her life. Marie was a member of First United Church of Christ for over ninety years and was a former member of the O.E.S. Chapter @#219. She retired from the Prestolite Co. after thirty nine years of service and was an avid bowler. She is survived by her nieces and nephews; Shirley Schmidt, Annette Frost, Marlene Skare, Judy Berkompas, Noreen Maarleveld, Diana Mika, Larry Schmidt, Marie Murawski, Bonnie Snyder and Jim Manninen, several great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews and great great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents Anthony and Dina, five brothers; William, Peter, Anthony Jr., James I and James II and four sisters; Antoinette Trumble, Frances Manninen, Diane Schmidt and Peternella Maarleveld. Funeral Services will take place Monday April 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Church of Christ, 1710 S. Wenona St. Bay City, MI 48706. Officiating will be Pastor Freda Nader with interment following in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.. Marie will be taken to the Church on Monday to lie in state from 1:00 p.m. and until the time of services. For those planning an expression of sympathy the family ask that you consider a memorial to First United Church of Christ General Fund.
