Marie E. Mrozinski Bay City, Michigan Marie E. Mrozinski, passed away Friday evening August 10, 2012 at the Toni and Trish House in Auburn, age 89. The daughter of the late Frank and Mary Rose (Kryszak) Przewozniak, she was born February 18, 1923 in Saginaw. Marie attended nursing school at St. Joseph School of Nursing in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. As a registered nurse, Marie served with the U.S. Army Nurse Corps during WWII and was stationed for two years in the China-Burma Theater as a First Lieutenant. She always loved to tell stories of her Army experiences. Following WWII, Marie used the GI Bill to attend the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC where she completed a Bachelor of Nursing Degree. Marie had a long history of leadership in public and community health care. Marie served as the Past Nursing Director of Bay County Health Department - Nursing Division. She furthered her education by obtaining a Masters Degree in Public Health in 1970. After a vital career in Community and Public Health Nursing, she retired from the State of Michigan, Department of Public Health as Chief of Personal Health Services. Marie was a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church, where she was active for many years on the School Board and the building campaign for their current church. She also served as a Lay Minister, working particularly with the sick and dying members of the Parish. Marie was a great cook and an avid gardener, and loved her grandchildren. On January 24, 1953 Marie married Eugene C. Mrozinski and he preceded her in death on December 2, 2004. She is survived by her children, Denise Cianek of Bay City, Paul (Carol) Mrozinski of Bay City and Beth (John) Wagner of Wexford, PA; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan) Mrozinski-Doran, Michael (Kathy) Mrozinski, Andrew Cianek, Claire Cianek, Adrienne Wagner, Frank Cianek and Ian Thomas Wagner; her great-grandchildren, Chelsey, Nick, Quinn and Erik; two sisters-in-law, Sally Przewozniak of Alpena and Dorothy Skornia of Auburn; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mrozinski was also preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Rose Przewozniak, brother, Eugene Przewozniak; and a son-in-law, Richard Cianek. Mrs. Mrozinski's family would like to express their gratitude to Suzanne, Lisa and Lisa from Visiting Angels and to the Toni and Trish House for the special care everyone gave to her. The Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday August 13, 2012 at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, 1504 S. Kiesel St. The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Kevin N. Kerbawy with the Rite of Committal at St. Stanislaus Cemetery followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. Mrs. Mrozinski will lie instate at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
