Marilyn passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at her residence after a three years illness with cancer at the age of 80 years. She was born on November 20, 1939 in Wheeler Township, Michigan to the late John and Lois (Bott) Gifford. Jeanie married Joseph Harrell Dillingham on January 27, 1970 at her parent's home in St. Louis, Michigan. They celebrated 44 years together. She worked as a supervisor foreman at Michigan Bell from 1961-1971 and was a member of First United Methodist Church, St. Louis, Christ United Methodist, Bay City and Grace United Methodist, Bay City. In her spare time she enjoyed bird watching and reading. Jeanie had a warm smile and a big heart and was dedicated to her church through her involvement.
Jeanie is survived by her son, Dale (Charity) Dillingham of Belding, Michigan; step-daughter, Gale (Kent) Jones of Davison, Michigan; grandson, Joey (Abby) Dillingham of Belding, Jared (Nicole Webber) Nickel of Beaverton, Brittaney (Andrew) Burtch of Belding and Nathan (Jordan) Wilkins of Nashville, Michigan; great grandchildren, Kadence and Ava Nickel, Delainey, Keagan, Collin and Daxton Burtch; sisters, Joanne Gifford, Janice (George) Kilborn; brothers-in-law, Dan Bayerd and Don Ed (Glenda) Dillingham. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law and sister, Jackie Bayerd.
Private burial has taken place at Ridge Lawn Cemetery, Breckenridge, Michigan. A memorial luncheon will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2020 at the Bay City State Park in pavilion 4. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to make a memorial contribution to McLaren Hospice or Grace United Methodist Church.
