Marilyn Joyce Thiel

Mrs. Thiel passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022 in Naples, FL. She was born on August 25, 1934 to the late George and Goldie (Anderson) Scheerer in Bay City, Michigan.
Marilyn was an avid reader and she loved camping, traveling and the beach.  She was an enthusiastic football fan and particularly enjoyed watching college football. Her greatest love was being a mom and grandmother, and spending time with her family. She was an amazing mom and will be missed by all who knew her.
Marilyn is survived by her children and their families, Julene Burson and her children Kristin (Andy) Raven and Melissa (David) Delk; Ric (Nancy Culberson) Anderson; Mary (Jim) Varilek and their children, Nicholas DeAgostino, Ryan (Hayley) Varilek, Brittney Varilek and Brendan Varilek; Jill (Bill) Teberg and their children, Rachel (Bryan) Riggsby, Gage Teberg and Kyle (Carla) Teberg; her brother, Robert (Shirley) Scheerer; her sister, Kristine (Paul) Schneller and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, Marilyn was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thiel in 2007; sister, Georgia; son-in-law, Roy Burson and former husband and father of her children, Walter Anderson, Jr.
In honoring the wishes of Marilyn, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
