Marilyn Margaret Veit, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 1, 2020. She was born in Bay City, Michigan, on May 10, 1944. As a young woman, Marilyn attended Freemont Methodist Church where she met her husband, Vernon "Sonny" Veit of 55 years. Marilyn's faith was a constant source of joy in her life and she hoped that others could find a personal relationship with Jesus as well: most recently she worshiped in Michigan at New Life Missionary Church in Bay City and in Florida at Beit Tehila in Brandon.
After retirement Marilyn and Sonny spent 16 summers and winters up at "Sonny's Rest U.P." in Barbeau, Michigan, on the St. Mary's River. They also spent 10 wonderful winters at Holiday Mobile Home Park in Lakeland, Florida.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eva "GiGi" Miller, her sisters, Estelle Sigelko and Joanne Buchinger, and her brother John Pete Miller.
And "Because Two People Fell in Love," she was survived by her seven children: Kristi (Paul) Elliott, Vernon (Melody) Veit, William Veit, Heide (Dawn) Ziehmer, John (Marcy) Veit, Joele Veit, and Jordan Veit, as well as her 24 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. In addition she is also survived by her sister Kathleen, her three nieces Renee, Eve Lynn, and Kimberly, and her nephew Ryan.
At Marilyn's request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at New Life Missionary Church with visitation two hours before service. For those wishing to honor Marilyn's memory, the family would ask that the Alzheimer's Association be considered.
