Balwinski, Marion C. Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Balwinski passed away Friday evening August 27, 2010 at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre in Saginaw. Age 95 years. She was born November 26, 1914 in Detroit, Michigan and has resided in Bay City since 1936. In 2007 she moved from her residence to reside at the Colonnades in Bay City and then moved to Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre in Saginaw. She was a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church, the Kiesel Pearls Senior Citizens Group and the League of Catholic Women and Men. Marion enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, her grand dogs and traveling. She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law; Ronald Z. and Mary Ann Balwinski of Auburn and Norman J. and Anne Marie Balwinski of Charlottesville, Virginia, five grandchildren; Michael and Gena Balwinski, Diana and Alan Busch, Mark Balwinski, Susan and Derek Timourian and Michelle and Brian Smith, five great grandchildren; Marcus and Brianna Timourian, Spencer Balwinski, Michaela and Cecilia Smith and her grand dogs; Bosco, Buffy and Baily. On November 28, 1936 she married Chester Z. Balwinski and he preceded her in death on April 12, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her father; Michael Buczek, mother; Cecilia Buczek-Schalinski, one brother; Edmund Buczek, one brother-in-law; Louis Balwinski and one sister-in-law; Cecilia Cherven. The Balwinski family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre for the kind and compassionate care they extended to Marion during her stay with them. The Funeral Liturgy will take place Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Hedwig Catholic Church (1504 S. Kiesel St.). Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Kevin N. Kerbawy with the Rite of Committal at 12:30 p.m. at St. Patrick's Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Tuesday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.. Members of the Kiesel Pearls will pray the rosary Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. and the Vigil for the Deceased will take place Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Balwinski will be taken to the church on Wednesday to lie in state to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Hedwig Catholic Church or American Diabetes Association.
