Marion "Mary" A. DeCatur

Mary passed away early Saturday morning, November 25, 2017 at Bay Shores Senior Care and Rehab with her family by her side. Age 84 years. The daughter of the late Raymond and Jesse (Reese) Grew was born September 10, 1933 in Bay City, MI. She was a member of South Baptist Church. Mary was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #18 and the 40 ET 8 Club. She was very active with the Bay County Veterans Council Funeral Honor Guard. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her family, working in her yard, gardening and ceramics.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her children, Susan M. Smith, Tammy (Keith) Beson, Allan (Kathleen) DeCatur and Rodney DeCatur; her daughter-in-law, Cherri DeCatur fifteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; her brother, Louis (Nina) Grew; her brothers-in-law, Jim Sampson, Louise and Bill Everitt, Steve DeCatur, Ronald DeCtur and Marian DeCatur In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. DeCatur; her daughter, Tina DeCatur, her son, Robert G. DeCatur; her son-in-law, Phillip Smith; her grandson, Nathaniel Smith;  her brothers and sisters -in -law, Howard and Elaine Grew, Chester and Ruth Grew and John Grew; her sister, Evelyn Sampson; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Karen DeCatur, Benita DeCatur, Bill DeCatur, Gary DeCatur and Alan DeCatur.
At the request on Mary cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home. Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Kirkpatrick followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Private inurnment will take place in  Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services to receive family and friends. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to the South Baptist Church or Wishes of the Family
