Marjorie Jane Karoly

Marjorie our loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away Friday evening, December 19, 2014 at her residence. Age 95 years. The daughter of the late Joseph and Nettie (Smith) Werner was born December 12, 1919 in Bay City. Marge was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. She worked for many years at Mel Smith Lincoln Mercury as a secretary. Marge enjoyed reading, walking, knitting and cooking. Left to cherish her memory is one son and two daughters-in-law; Joseph (Nancy Olivier) Karoly and Debra Karoly, wife of Marge's predeceased son; Peter Louis Karoly, their children; Kevin Peter Karoly and Kathryn Rose Karoly, her sister-in-law; Katherine Werner and several cousins. In addition to her parents and her son she was also preceded in death by her husband; Louis W. Karoly whom she married June 26, 1948, one brother; Carl Werner, one sister; Edith Werner. Funeral and Committal Services will take place on Tuesday December 23, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church (706 W. Jane St. Bay City, MI 48706). Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schaewe with private interment in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Marge will be taken to the church on Tuesday to lie in state from 12:00 o'clock Noon until the time of services.
