Marlene L. Bennett

Marlene passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Sheffield Bay at the age of 87 with her family by her side. She was born October 6, 1936 to the late Charlie and Velma (Fowler) Cookson in Saginaw, Michigan. Marlene enjoyed listening and dancing to music, especially polka’s. She also enjoyed traveling, dining out with her club of special friends of over 60 years, and spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 Marlene is survived by her son, Troy (Wanda) Gronowski; daughter, Amy Gronowski; eight grandchildren, Melissa (Jason) Ruple, Chelsey Reichart, Kathryn (Brandon) Jarzabkowski, Marjorie (Tyler) Beauchamp, Aubree (Brandon) Brooks, Troy (significant other, Kim) Cornell, Cole Gronowski, and Samuel Cornell; eight great grandchildren, Evan, Emilie, Cody, Charlie, Sophia, Carter, Brenna, and Cecelia.  In addition to her parents, Marlene is preceded in death by her first husband, John Gronowski; husband of 51 years, George Bennett; daughter, Stacy Gronowski; son-in-law, Patrick Salois.

 At the request of Marlene, Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life will take place at a later date at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be considered to the Bay County Animal Services and Adoption Center or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
