Martha J. Schleben

Schleben, Martha J. Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Schleben passed away Thursday September 19, 2013 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 84 years. She was born August 14, 1929 in Findley, Ohio to the late Virgil P. and Dorothy (Shepard) Foltz. Martha was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, retired from J.L. Hudsons as a secretary in the human resource department and prepared income taxes for many people in the Bay City area. She enjoyed making crafts and painting. On October 30, 1954 she married Rudolph E. Schleben and he survives her passing along with two sons and one daughter; Mark Schleben of Clearwater, FL and James and Dev Schleben of Grand Ledge, one daughter and son-in-law; Dr. Barbara and Dr. Jerry Appold of Bay City, seven grandchildren; Nicole and Tom Judd, Bradford Schleben, Jenna Schleben, Margeaux Appold, Maxwell Appold, Megan Appold and Mandy Schleben, one sister; Nancy Watkins, two brothers and two sisters-in-law; Phil and Mary Foltz and Warren and Undis Foltz and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister; Diane Schmidt and one brother-in-law; Robert Watkins. A Memorial Service will take place Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. William H. Allwardt. The family will be present at the funeral home on Saturday to receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial cards for Zion Lutheran Church will be available.
