Marvin F. Schuen "Marv" Bay City, Michigan Marvin "Marv" Fred Schuen, age 79, passed away June 10, 2015 at the University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor Michigan with his loved ones by his side. Marv was affectionately called "Pops" by his family and loved ones. The son of the late Fredrick and Katherine (Riffelmacher) Scheuenstuhl, he was born August 2, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan and spent most of his life in Bay City, Michigan. Marv was the oldest of three boys. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving his country during the Korean War.Marv graduated from Ferris State University with an associate's degree in architecture. Marv retired from the Dow Chemical Company after working 32 years at the Midland, Michigan facility. Marv was a long-time member of the Moose Lodge, enjoyed attending performances at the Bay City Players Theater and traveling. Marv was very active throughout his life as he enjoyed many outdoor activities. He loved to watch his beloved Michigan Wolverines and listen to the Detroit Tigers baseball and the Detroit Lions football games. Marv discovered Drummond Island in 1965 and loved and enjoyed Drummond his entire life.Marv also loved boating on Lake Huron and fishing on Drummond Island. His favorite was the pursuit of smallmouth bass along the limestone ledges on the north shore of Drummond. Marv also had a great love of dogs. Marv took great pride and was a craftsman in the construction of many projects that included his two homes in Bay City, the steel dock on Drummond Island and his many beautiful wood working projects. Marv is survived by his former wife Barb Fabeck of the Villages, Florida, two sons- Rich (Wendy) Schuen of Sunbury, Ohio and Gary (Patti) Schuen of Canal Winchester, Ohio and six grandchildren- Jonathan, Katherine, Benjamin, Meredith, Elizabeth, and Paige. Also surviving Marv are brothers; Ron (Kathy) Schuen, and Norm (Elfie) Schuen and ten nieces and nephews.Marv was preceded in death by his parents and son Dale Marvin Scheuenstuhl and infant grandson, Jonathan. Military Honors and Funeral Services will take place Saturday June 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. in Bay City, Michigan. Friends and family can gather before the service from 9am to 10am. Final resting place will be in Bay City at the Floral Gardens Cemetery.
