Chartier, Mary L. (Columbus) Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Chartier passed away Tuesday, September 3,2013 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 81 years. She was born August 5, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the Good Sams Club. She enjoyed camping helping at her church and most of all spending time with her family. She is survived by one son; Matthew Derek Columbus, three grandchildren; Leslie Anne Tripp, Chase Matthew Columbus and Ashley Elizabeth Rose Columbus, her step children; Beverly (Terry) LaFond of Pinconning, Rosemarie (Walter) Lijewski of Clayton, MI, Susan (Don) Lijewski of Kawkawlin, Claudia (Tony) La Framboise of Auburn and Jeffrey (Debbie) Chartier of Bay City, her step daughter-in-law; Marilyn Chartier of Linwood, three sisters-in-law; Mary Lou Hughes, Lois Short and Marge (John) Rohde, her best loving friend; Kathy Sinclair and her nieces and nephews; Denise, Helen, Lee Ann, Kurt and Keith Petre. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel A. Columbus, and then married Howard L. Chartier on April 28, 1990 and he preceded her in death on August 27, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents; Delos L. and Bernice Petre and one brother and sister-in-law; Robert and Eileen Petre. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday September 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. James R. Carlson and private interment will take place in Homer Township Cemetery in Midland, MI. At the request of Mrs. Chartier cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at the church on Friday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Memorial cards for the Wishes of the Family will be available.
