Mary Martha Greene

Mary peacefully passed away, Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at her home with her family by her side at the age of 85. She was born in East Jordan, Michigan on June 1, 1939, to the late Clarence and Mary (Graham) Lord.

Mary enjoyed traveling, sewing, quilting, and doing carpentry work. Mary valued education and graduated Summa Cum Laude from SVSU. Mary received many awards and recognition for her volunteer work within the community. She received a key to Bay City in 1997 for over 10 years of volunteer work at The Literacy Council. She was also an author; she wrote “Saturday Afternoon at the Bijou, Single Screen Theaters of Bay City, Bay County, Michigan 1903 to Present”. She wrote several children’s books for her grandchildren. She also researched and wrote a genealogy book on the Lord and Graham family.

Mary is survived by her husband of 46 years, David W. Greene; children, Dennis (Sam) Evans, Michael Evans, and Graham (Cortney) Greene; stepchildren, Susan (Bruce), Vickie, Tracy (Tim), Debbie (Rueben), Bryan (Tammy) and Kellie (Darrell); and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her stepson, Paul; and siblings, Ed, Maxine and Margaret.

At the request of Mary, cremation has taken place, and a private inurnment will take place at Heavenly Rest at a later date.
