Mary Jane Wieland

Wieland, Mary Jane of Bay City, Michigan passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012 at University of Michigan Medical Center with her family at her side. Age 59 years. She was born September 28, 1952 in Newport, Rhode Island. She was an active member of the Australian Cattle Dog Club of American and raised many champion Australian Cattle Dogs. She enjoyed maintaining her yard, gardening and most of all spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 38 years Carlton Wieland whom she married on August 4, 1973, one daughter and son-in-law; Wrenn and Steve Johnston of Atlanta, GA, one son and daughter-in-law; Nick and Nicole Wieland of Mason, OH, one brother and sister-in-law; Jim and Chris Griffiths of Bradley, IL, her half sister; Kay Thompson of Bay City, her cousin; Kathy and Bill Crisp of Bay City, her special friend; Ginni Schaefer of Linwood, several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Clarence and Verna Griffiths and her father-in-law and mother-in-law; Erwin and Nina Wieland. At the request of Mary cremation has taken place and there will be a private family Memorial Service held at a later time. For those planning an expression of sympathy the family ask that you consider a memorial to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Multiple Sclerosis Society.
