Mary Jo DuFord

Our loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully Thursday morning, December 26, 2019 at Covenant Cooper with her family at her side at the age of 70 years. The daughter of the late Patrick John and Elizabeth Theresa (McCann) Meagher was born April 15, 1949 in Bay City and had resided there until moving to Freeland. On February 24, 1968 she married her loving husband Theodore DuFord and he passed away on March 26, 2016 after forty eight years of marriage. Mary Jo enjoyed gardening, gambling, shopping, ceramics, macramé, crocheting and cooking. Most of all she cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mary Jo is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Darin) Brunett of Freeland; son, Theodore P. (Adrian Aciar) DuFord of Freeland; grandchildren, Connor and Chase Brunett; brother-in-law, Carl Neveau; sister-in-law, Delores Meagher and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, James and Richard Meagher and sisters, Betty Greenleaf, Rita Andrews, Dorothy Burgess, Donna Strauss, Barbara Keipinger (Satkowiak) and Karen Neveau.
Funeral services will take place Monday, December 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rob Starr with burial and Committal in Calvary Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home on Sunday to receive visitors from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
