Mary J. Martin "McaDonald"

Our beloved sister and aunt passed away peacefully late Saturday morning August 6, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Age 92 years. The daughter of the late Richard and Marcella (Kirkconell) MacDonald was born June 9, 1924 in Alma, Michigan and has resided in Bay City most of her life. She was a former member of First United Methodist Church, a member of Grace United Methodist Church West Campus, B.P.O.E. # 88 Auxiliary and The Telephone Pioneers. Mary retired from Ameritech as an engineer clerk after many years of service. Left to cherish her memories is one brother; Stanley MacDonald and several wonderful nieces and nephews that she dearly loved and many special friends. On September 6, 1958, she married Herbert J. Martin and he preceded her in death on June 4, 2012. Mary was also preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law; Thelma and Claude Niemann, three brothers and four sister-in-law; Raymond and Tadzia MacDonald, Walter "Elmer" and Elaine MacDonald, Elton and Virginia MacDonald and Mary Alice MacDonald. At the request of Mrs. Martin, a private Funeral Service was held Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Oakwood Mausoleum in Saginaw, Michigan. Officiating was Rev. Jeff Temple with entombment following. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to a charity of their choice.
