Mrs. Thompson passed away early Wednesday morning, August 1, 2012 at Brian's House at the age of 73 years. The daughter of the late Oscar and Cecelia (Ciosek) VanDe Vyvere was born December 4, 1938 in Bay City. She was an avid bingo player and slot machine player at the casino. She enjoyed going down to Vets Park with her husband and watch the boats in the river. She is survived by her husband; Darwin D. Thompson whom she married September 29, 1957. Also surviving are three children and their spouses; Linda Kirby of Clio, MI, Michael and Theresa Thompson of Flushing, MI and Rebecca and Brian Koboldt of Austin, TX, five grandchildren; Becky (Benjamin) Frey, Rachel (Buddy) McClelland, Bailey, Caitlin and Delaney Thompson, one great granddaughter; Sumaya McClelland, one great grandson; Philip Frey, one sister; Beverly VanDeVyvere, several nieces and nephews and lots of bingo friends. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her son-in-law; Philip Kirby. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. to receive family and friends.
